In case I have not made myself clear, storage is a godsend ! I think most people suffer from "lack-of-space-itis". It's a nasty little disease that keeps us all walking in circles amongst our clutter and pulling our hair out in frustration at the fact that it won't just disappear.
But the worst of this clutter are those small pieces that you can never seem to find a home for - simply because those small things turn into 1 larger pile and 1 pile turns into many. Below is a pic of our laundry area. It is technically the before picture but I only began snapping after I had cleared away a few things. I couldn't have you all seeing everything this early in our new relationship *bats lashes*.
Two very old and ratty pillows, miscellaneous baby clothes and some cleaning rags were just a few of the things that I got rid of before taking this "before" pic. So after purging a few more items and acquiring some baskets from my beloved boo, Target ( pronounced Tar-Jay) , this was my finished product.
Not a super serious transformation but de-cluttered nonetheless. I also tackled the cabinet under our kitchen sink. I neglected to take a before picture because I was in ferocious clutter be gone mode. But here is the after picture.
The clear plastic bin was about $3 and some change at Target. Perfect for housing a lot of similar items in 1 space. This also helped the hubby and I to actually see what cleaning supplies we had and which ones we needed. You would think that would be a simple enough thing to keep track of but you can't imagine the number of doubles we'd end up with after thinking we didn't have something. So again, small fix but plenty helpful. I also got a plastic bag holder that I have plans to hang on the wall in the laundry area ... one day ... soon .... hopefully :-)
