How was Turkey Day ? Ours was good. The usual. Had breakfast, cooked a little, our toddler dressed herself like she was headed to a "baby rave" and then we headed over to my parents house for dinner :-) ..... was that not a snapshot of everyone's day ?
Well it was true for us and below is a picture of what our "littlest" family member thought she should wear to her grandmommy's house for dinner versus what her father and I deemed a bit more appropriate :
Which brings me to the 1st thing I'm thankful for - this girl ... and her creative, funky fresh toddler style. Though there are difficult moments ( and days where the bedtime countdown begins at noon )EVERYDAY with her is an honest to goodness blessing.
2) My Hubby: he's the sweetest with the best heart and allows me to decorate like crazy :-)
3) Our Home: it is a place that I find so warm and cozy - like a big hug. It also provides me with
limitless home decor fun!
4) Extended Family: they give our nuclear family so much support and enable us to get a moment to
ourselves here and there where we can just breathe.
5) My Day Job: though I may complain about it at times, I'm thankful to have something that
so many others do not in what have been and continue to be hard times.
6) My Natural Hair: I am a proud naturalista ( like a stylista ... Or TJ Maxxinista , but with hair ) and
I am so thankful for the way my mane has changed my outlook on life.
7) My Friends: they are my individual support. They also inspire and admonish me when necessary.
8) Moments: whatever they may be - relaxing moments, moments as a family, moments of fun,
moments of rest. I am really just thankful for the moments.
9) My Sisters: though they are part of my previously mentioned extended family, I'm especially
thankful for them really pushing me head first into this blogging thing.
10) My Creativity: what I hope is some good ole' God given talent that will turn "decoraTiNg avery"
into a ginormous success. Gotta fake it til' you make it, right ?
xoxo,
